Description: Invasive species and climate change are closely connected. Invasive species can weaken ecosystems, making them more vulnerable to climate change, while changing climate conditions create new opportunities for invasive species to establish and spread. When considered together, these pressures can compound risk and increase long-term impacts. Climate adaptation planning that does not account for invasive species may underestimate future vulnerabilities.
