Students explore the fundamentals of electrochemistry and examine lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride, and lead-acid chemistries. Key topics include battery performance metrics, pack design, battery management systems, charging strategies, safety, and recycling. The curriculum balances theoretical foundations with hands-on problem-solving, preparing students to understand, evaluate, and contribute to the development of modern traction battery systems.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Chemical and Biological Engineering or equivalent
- Experience or specialization in the subject will be an asset
