Your Opportunity:

As a member of a multi disciplinary team, the Assistant Head Nurse (AHN) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. The AHN assumes responsibility and acts as a resource for staff skill assessment and development. The AHN will provide leadership in clinical practice through coordination and monitoring of clinical activities, management of equipment, supplies and patient flow through the surgical suite. The AHN is in a leadership role and must demonstrate a professional, positive attitude, excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills. The AHN is a role model and leader within the department and will be responsible for a surgical service or services within the department. The ability to be flexible and fluid, working in a variety of surgical services as a leader is an asset.
