Assistant Research Technologist, Neuroscience & Mental Health

Position Description

Reporting to the Principal Investigator and/or Lab Manager, the Assistant Research Technologist is responsible for applying general technical knowledge and skills to perform standard laboratory research techniques and procedures in a mouse molecular genetics laboratory.

• Providing technical assistance to post-docs to perform a variety of diversified laboratory techniques (mouse behaviour, molecular biology, biochemistry, imaging)
• Preparing media, solutions, reagents, and doing routine assays following prescribed methods.
• Maintaining, storing, and communicating records of experimental data.
• Responsibility for accuracy of techniques using established policies and procedures to resolve technical problems.
