Description
Position Summary
As a member of the healthcare team, the Child Life Specialist enables infants, children, adolescents and their families to maintain optimum development, realize normal living patterns, minimize psychological trauma and maximize adjustment as they adapt to changes in health, hospitalization and life situations. Through preparation, education, therapeutic play, and other intervention strategies, the pediatric population is provided with the opportunities to maximize coping.
Schedule Work Hours
Days, evenings, weekends
This position is temporary until July 2027.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a related field
- Child Life Certification, or obtainable within 1 year of employment. (External applicants, or those not currently working as a CLS at HHS)
