A growing Alberta‑based law firm is seeking a Criminal Defence Lawyer to join its busy practice in Medicine Hat. This opportunity is open to both newly called lawyers and experienced counsel looking to build a long‑term career in criminal law within a supportive and fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage criminal defence files from intake to resolution
- Represent clients in bail hearings, trials, sentencings, and appeals
- Review disclosure materials and develop defence strategies
- Conduct legal research and draft legal submissions
- Appear regularly in Provincial Court and the Court of King’s Bench
- Communicate effectively with clients, Crown prosecutors, and court officials
