YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD Invites applications for the position of: CUPE 2331 Supply Educational Assistant $ 37.00 per hour Position Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the School Principal, the Supply Educational Assistant is assigned to assist teachers in a class or classrooms where a special need has been identified to support students in their learning by implementing specific programs as directed by the teacher. Educational Assistants do not independently plan, modify, evaluate lessons, or report on the progress of the students. Major Responsibilities: Work closely with the staff in providing guidance, emotional support and encouragement to all students, in accordance with the Boards philosophy on mainstreaming. Provide opportunities for student success in fostering self-esteem, promoting positive peer and adult interaction and social skills.
