Following damage from a tornado in 1989, the school was rebuilt and strengthened, reflecting the resilience of the community.In September 2019, Cut Knife Elementary School and Cut Knife High School merged to become Cut Knife Community School, creating a unified Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 learning environment.
