Lead the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs as the Director of Education, driving transformative education initiatives for First Nations communities. Advocate and assert jurisdictional autonomy in education.
You will be responsible for coordinating education initiatives that reassert First Nations governance in education. This involves collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, reflective advocacy, and strategic management to create a robust First Nations education framework. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential to this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead efforts to reassert First Nations jurisdiction in education
• Develop collaborative federal recognition legislation
• Engage in provincial and national educational negotiations
