District requires a 1.0 FTE PERMANENT Elementary Teacher/Counsellor

Effective September 1, 2026

This position will be based in Chetwynd and will work with the District elementary counselling team to support schools in Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge.

The successful applicant will possess, a Master's Degree in Counselling.

The focus of the counselling work will be in assessing and developing interventions and plans for students in the areas of behaviors, social/emotional well-being and self-determination. These interventions may be delivered individually, in small groups or in the classroom setting. The candidate will participate in the planning and implementation of behavior plans in collaboration with the school-based team liaising with outside agencies, as needed. Working together with staff, a major goal of intervention is to assist students in transferring skills across environments including classroom, playground and other areas.
