Durham Forest Summer Day Camp Junior Counsellor

The Durham Forest Environmental Education Centre, located near Uxbridge, Ontario, is hiring for the position of Summer Camp Junior Counsellor. This full‑time, fixed‑term role runs from June 29, 2026 to August 21, 2026 at the Durham Forest Summer Camp, a wilderness program focused on hands‑on, inquiry‑based learning in nature for youth ages 7‑12.

Job Duties

• Assist in the development of summer camp programming, including planning and coordination
• Work in a team to safely supervise and lead activities for campers
• Assist Camp Counsellors in creating schedules for campers
• Communicate in a timely and professional fashion with parents, caregivers, campers and staff

Qualifications

• Must be completing Grade 10 as of June 2026
• Experience working with children is an asset
• Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and able to take on responsibility
• Excellent communication skills
