Equipment Specialist (BCGEU) - Full Time - Burnaby, BC 3680 Gilmore Wy, Burnaby, BC V5G 4V8, Canada

Job Description Permanent, full‑time position (37.5 hours per week). Flexible shift. Start date: ASAP. Union: BCGEU.

Responsibilities

Perform weekly cleaning and maintenance of the automated specimen handling system (Autoline) and other automated equipment (Capper, Pluggo, Siemens LabCell, etc.).

Repair any required parts and replace components as needed.

Conduct daily checks of sodium azide system, compressor, and nitrogen tanks.

Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.

Coordinate closely with external vendors when necessary.

Receive, sort, pack, and deliver incoming specimens to testing areas.

Enter patient information into the computer system and accession requisitions.

Load, unload, store, retrieve, and dispose of specimens.
