Join the team as a Kiipewii’Chego Advocate, providing crucial support to expectant mothers and families in navigating healthcare and child welfare systems. This full-time position emphasizes cultural empowerment and advocacy.
The Kiipewii’Chego Advocate, under the direction of the Director of Children & Families, will coordinate wraparound support for First Nations families. Key skills include collaboration with Perinatal Support Workers and effective relationship-building with parents and caregivers to address concerns and meet their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend weekly case conferences and intake new clients
• Collaborate with Perinatal Support Workers on family sovereignty
• Connect families with Elders to enhance cultural identity
• Advocate for meaningful parent-child contact
• Maintain up-to-date client records and confidentiality
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Social Work or Arts Diploma required
• Minimum 3 years in Child and Family Services
