Overview

CO2 capture, storage and utilization technologies are part of the range of solutions identified for global warming mitigation measures. These technologies require precise 3D modelling, integrating seismic and well data of the geological layer as well as clear geomechanical modelling of the reservoir where the CO2 will be injected and the overburden.

For geomechanical studies, Viridien uses the coupled reservoir, geomechanics, and fracturing software GEOSIM. The workflow is designed for analysing reservoir problems that involve strong coupling between reservoir flow and mechanical deformation, or interactions with fractures resulting from stimulation treatments (e.g., waterflooding or fluid injection) in both single and multi‑well systems.
