Role Overview
This is a new, highly autonomous role with the opportunity to build and shape the Harm Reduction and Substance Use Outreach Nurse program. The nurse provides professional nursing support and delivers educational initiatives to community-based First Nations Health Service Organizations and FNHA nursing programs, focusing on mental health and substance use. The role supports the enhancement of nursing practice standards in communities, with a key emphasis on RN/RPN prescribing of opioid agonist treatment (OAT) and addressing the ongoing toxic drug crisis.
