High school teacher

Responsibilities

• Discuss results and students’ progress with students, parents and school officials
• Participate in staff meetings
• Assign and correct homework
• Develop course content
• Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum
• Prepare, administer and correct tests
• Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio‑visual presentations, laboratory, shop and field studies

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Certification: Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate
• Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal awareness, organized, values and ethics, creativity
• Experience: Experience is an asset
