Horticultural Technician

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the English Bay Community Center Manager, the Horticultural Technician is responsible for the daily care, maintenance, and upkeep of the greenhouse facility, community gardens and fruit orchard. This role ensures optimal growing conditions are maintained and that the facility operates safely and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Facility Maintenance: Ensure the greenhouse structure, walkways, and workspaces are kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Plant Care & Upkeep: Assist with routine watering, fertilizing, pruning, and general health monitoring of greenhouse vegetation, community garden and orchard trees.
• Climate Management: Monitor and report on greenhouse temperature, humidity, and ventilation systems, making minor adjustments as directed.
