Insurance Linked Securities Analyst, Student Intern (Fall 2026 - 4 Months)

Job Summary: The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (“HOOPP”) is a $135billion defined benefit pension plan managed for nurses and hospital workers of Ontario. The Insurance Linked Securities (ILS) group is a two-person team investing in the property catastrophe and specialty reinsurance space. The ILS team seeks a student intern to support day‑to‑day portfolio management and develop advanced weather and/or climate analytics for investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Portfolio Manager, ILS, across multiple workstreams contributing to portfolio management, advanced analytics development, and research in pricing and modeling catastrophe risk.
• Develop and maintain the ILS analytics code base.
• Validate data extraction methods and tools pertaining to insurance‑linked securities.
