Laboratory Technician - Laboratory Medicine, FTT (J0526-0737)

Position Summary

Laboratory Technician, Histopathology performs laboratory procedures in accordance with departmental and divisional policies. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and families.

Responsibilities

• Assists pathologist and pathologist assistant at gross bench
• Sets up and cleans equipment
• Stains and coverslips
• Changes reagents and maintains supplies
• Accessioning, sorting, filing and organizing histopathology specimens
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Graduate of Laboratory Technician program
• MLPAO certification
• Experience in histology laboratory is preferred
• Basic knowledge and ability to perform assigned tasks
