Legal Counsel Level II

Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) is seeking a mid-level In-House Legal Counsel with four to seven years of relevant, post-call legal experience for its Iqaluit, Nunavut office. NTI Legal Counsel works closely with the NTI Board of Directors, senior staff, and external counsel/consultants in the provision of legal services to the organization. Responsibilities include preparing/attending meetings of NTI Members and Board of Directors (may include travel), conducting legal research and providing legal advice in several areas of the law including Nunavut Agreement interpretation and implementation, Indigenous/constitutional, administrative, corporate, employment, wildlife and natural resources law, contracts, reviewing legislation and regulations and preparing submissions on proposed legislation, appearing before Institutions of Public Government/government agencies, and overseeing litigation.
