Legal Mortgage Administrator

Manulife’s Real Estate Finance Group (REFG) manages a diversified commercial mortgage portfolio across the U.S. and Canada, supported by both internal and external investors. REFG oversees asset management through the full loan lifecycle and partners closely with borrowers, solicitors/lawyers, title companies, and key internal stakeholders. Within REFG, the Legal Services team is primarily responsible for preparing and managing documentation for mortgage discharges when loans are paid in full, while maintaining accurate security across the active portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial mortgage files, including all legal documentation.
• Review and understand recorded documentation (title searches).
• Actively monitor pending payoffs.
• Prepare and execute discharge documentation for Canada and the U.S., ensuring correct forms, signing authorities, signatures, and notarization.
