Locum Midwives needed in Northern Quebec

Job Overview

We are urgently looking for experienced midwives to fill locum positions in our three village maternities (Puvirnituq, Salluit, Inukjuak) from July through September and to cover winter holiday needs. These short‑term assignments will support both local and southern midwifery staff during absences and contribute to the ongoing education of students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day‑to‑day functioning of the maternity ward, including labour, delivery, and post‑natal care of Inuit women.
• Collaborate closely with local staff, other physicians and nursing personnel, and community service workers to provide comprehensive care.
• Act as a mentor and instructor, helping to develop and deliver the midwifery education program to students and community members.
• Participate in the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the program.
