Position Summary
The Municipal Enforcement Officer plays a vital role within the City of Iqaluit, working under the supervision of the Sergeant to uphold community standards and safety. The officer carries out essential law‑enforcement duties, focusing on enforcing municipal by‑laws and selected territorial acts, and works collaboratively with a dedicated team. Responsibilities include laying information, representing the municipality in court proceedings, conducting investigations, inspections, and interviews, and engaging the public through proactive enforcement strategies to enhance public safety and community awareness.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Valid Nunavut Class 5 Driver’s License
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Minimum 1–3 years’ experience as a by‑law officer, constable or peace officer
