Nurse Practitioner - NICU/Special Care Nursery

POSITION SUMMARY

The Nurse Practitioner - NICU/Special Care Nursery provides comprehensive advanced practice nursing care to neonates and families as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will function as an expert clinician working closely with frontline staff to provide high quality care and clinical nursing leadership in the Level 2(b) environment. The NP is an autonomous health care provider who, working collaboratively with the interprofessional Women's & Infants' Program team, applies an expanded range of theoretical, practical and evidence‑informed therapeutics to neonates and their families in the NICU/Special Care Nursery. Within the Women's & Infants' Program, the NP is authorized to perform extended health services which include comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, intervention, referral, management, and evaluation of patient care across the continuum of acute health services.
