Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator

Location: Whitehorse, YT Y1A 2Z7. Work must be completed at the physical location. No option to work remotely.

Salary: $31.00 to $33.00 hourly (to be negotiated) / 40 hours per week. Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time.

Responsibilities

• Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public.
• Review HR directives to assure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Establish and implement policies and procedures.
• Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards.
• Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses.
• Manage training and development strategies.
• Develop and implement health and safety plans.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
• Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
