Paid on Call (Volunteer) Firefighters

Overview

This District of Lake Country is recruiting for Paid on Call (Volunteer) Firefighters to join the Lake Country Fire Rescue team. Paid‑on‑call firefighters work out of three fire stations in Lake Country and may be asked to respond to a variety of emergency calls, including structure fires, and occasionally participate in public education events.

Required Qualifications

• Be a minimum of 19 years of age
• Be able to meet the NFPA medical standards
• Minimum completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Physically fit and have a doctor’s consent to participate in fitness testing
• Possess a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license without prohibitions or suspensions within the past three years and have a good driving record – submission of a driver’s abstract will be required. More than six points in the last three years is considered excessive
