Parent Support Worker – Grandmother’s Bay

We are looking for a compassionate, caring, patient person, with an upbeat attitude and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The Parent Support Worker will assist the Maternal Child Health Program by improving health outcomes for pregnant women and families with infants and young children, by focusing on culture, role‑modeling and healthy teachings by linking community resources. This role requires workers to be organized, flexible and adaptable.

About the position

Working 7.5‑hour shifts (overtime may be required). The worker will provide in‑home support such as basic infant care, infant stimulation, fostering healthy child development, self‑care and coping as a parent, offering a hands‑on approach to learning and supportive mentoring as a peer. Advocate, refer and act as a liaison for families. Work closely with Health Care Professionals and the Public Health Nursing & Health Team to provide and deliver programs and services.
