Join The Royal Ottawa team as a part-time Registered Practical Nurse in Brockville, Ontario. This role focuses on mental health recovery within the Secure Treatment Unit, working on days, nights, and weekends.
This temporary position offers 0.5 FTE status and a contract that will last until January 2027. As an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, you will provide specialized care that includes conducting patient assessments and developing therapeutic relationships. You should have a diploma in Practical Nursing, current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and CPR certification, among other important qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer medication and perform physical assessments
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients
• Collaborate within the interdisciplinary team
• Conduct regular vital sign checks and glucose readings
• Provide ECT recovery support and basic wound care
