Position Summary

Payroll Team Lead ensures successful payroll operations, compliance, training, data analysis, controls, audits, and reporting. The role is accountable for accurate tax submissions, benefits contributions, T4 and W-2 reconciliations, and serves as backup to the Manager, Payroll. The Payroll Team Lead will also take a key role in system configuration, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of AI-driven tools to modernize payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach the Payroll Specialists, ensuring they are knowledgeable about established payroll processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Act as a Payroll Specialist when required to ensure payroll is completed on time.
  • Review payroll inputs for each pay group for accuracy and verify that all documentation is received and approved by appropriate departments.
