Perfusionist - Cardiovascular Perfusion

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager (HSM), the staff perfusionist and The Department of Perfusion Services (Perioperative Care Division) supports patients undergoing Cardiac surgery through the provision of cardiovascular perfusion services at the Halifax Infirmary (adult), and the Isaak Walton Killam Health Center (pediatrics). The department provides cardiopulmonary bypass for approximately cases per year.

Perfusion services also provides support for ECMO, Sugarbaker procedures, ventricular assist devices, balloon pumps and blood recovery systems for a variety of procedures including liver transplant. Support is provided at both the adult and paediatric sites.
