Perfusionist Outram

Responsibilities

• Manage the perfusion of cardiopulmonary bypass cases.
• Operate and maintain heart‑lung machines, blood analysis equipment and other accessory equipment to ensure secure conduct of surgery by the cardiovascular surgeon.
• Assist the Chief Perfusionist in supervising and training perfusionists to support surgeons in cardiovascular operations (Senior Perfusionist).

Requirements

• Recognised degree, preferably majoring in Biological Sciences.
• At least 1–2 years’ relevant experience in managing perfusions involving congenital (infant/paediatric), ischemic heart and vascular diseases.
• Service‑oriented, alert, observant and dexterous.
• Candidates without perfusion management experience may be considered if they have at least 2–3 years of other work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
