The Opportunity:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Pharmacy Assistant at our Southdale Pharmacy located at 77 Vermillion Rd in Winnipeg, MB. This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager. The Pharmacy Assistant adds value to our Co-operative by assisting with the operation of the retail pharmacy, including responsibility for quality patient care.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
Accept new written prescription orders and refill prescriptions.
Verify all data on the prescription (patient name and address; physician name and address; date of prescription; drug; directions; quantity; refills; physician signature).
Verify and input third-party coverage information.
Verify quantities for filling.
Determine appropriate staffing of prescriptions.
Scan new prescription into pharmacy database (Kroll).
