Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Biology & Machine Learning
Posted by Université du Luxembourg • June 06, 2026
Description
Your role
The selected candidate will develop a computational platform to identify hierarchical combinations of cell fate conversion factors, which in turn will be used to engineer highly specialized neuronal cellular subtypes for cell transplantation therapies. To achieve this goal, the candidate will combine a gene network-based approach with a machine learning model (foundational model) to propose protocols of sequential induction of transcription factors to generate desired cell subtypes. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with Prof. Stefan Stricker at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, who will also conduct the experimental validation of the computational predictions.
Your profile
- Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, biology, or a related discipline,
- Strong interest in applying quantitative approaches to complex biological and biomedical questions
