Psychology Tutor

Overview

A fantastic school in Central North London is seeking psychology tutors (psychology graduates or teachers) to inspire, motivate and increase attainment and participation in core subject areas.

The school is a Grade 1 Ofsted, 11-18 school with a diverse range of needs. Tutors will work as learning mentors and tutors on a 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 basis, focusing on raising attainment, participation, confidence and self‑esteem.

Responsibilities

• Select and mentor students to achieve goals.
• Discuss aims of mentoring with pupils.
• Provide support inside and outside the classroom.
• Write action plans and agree with pupils.
• Make home visits to talk with parents and advise on strategies.
• Liaise with teachers, social workers, educational psychologists and make referrals.
• Aid pupils with transition to secondary education.
• Develop strategies to increase confidence and self‑esteem. <...
