Description

Working with surgery patients during the post‑anesthetic phase, the incumbent performs a variety of nursing duties by administering safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards. The incumbent must demonstrate a professional, positive attitude. Excellent communication, teaching, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills are required. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the incumbent must have the ability to recognize and assist with management of post anesthesia/surgical problems. The DTCOR Post Anesthetic Care Unit provides post‑anesthesia care to high acuity patients who have undergone a variety of major surgeries including General, Neuro, Orthopedic, Trauma, Plastic, Oral‑Maxillofacial, Urology, and Thoracic surgery as elective and emergency cases. The Post Anesthetic Care Unit also cares for ICU post‑operative patients when necessary. We do over 11,000 surgeries a year, most of which are of the high intensity,...
