Responsibilities
Advise GM personnel, technical staff, government relations/public policy staff, and management on global environmental, emissions, vehicle safety, autonomous vehicle, dangerous-goods transportation, and substances‑of‑concern laws and regulations.
- Advise GM personnel, technical staff, government relations/public policy staff, and management on critical compliance risks and obligations relating to GM products, facilities, and operations.
- Represent GM before federal and state authorities, agencies, administrative tribunals, and courts in regulatory matters and disputes.
- Review proposed laws and regulations, and provide legal advice in support of efforts to influence rulemaking and lawmaking.
- Support GM participation in trade association matters.
- Support the drafting, review, and negotiation of legal agreements.
