Responsibilities
The Mountaineer weekly newspaper is looking for an energetic, community‑minded reporter with a passion for writing accurate and engaging stories.
Responsibilities include:
- Coverage of Town of Rocky news, including regular council meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of the month
- Generating content for special sections
- Writing and photography across breaking news, sports, industry coverage, politics, feature and outdoor/environmental assignments
- Flex‑time work including some weekend and evening assignments
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a journalism diploma or certificate, adhere to journalism ethics and the news media code of practice, and possess their own transportation and camera equipment.
