Reports to: The Assistant Director in the Environment, Wildlife and Research Department
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed research project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, in support of the Qanittaq initiative and in alignment with Makivvik’s objectives and funding requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Makivvik, external researchers, and Nunavik communities, ensuring clear, consistent, and culturally appropriate communication.
- Facilitate the integration of Inuit Knowledge (IK) into research design, implementation, and interpretation.
- Coordinate and organize community meetings, workshops, and information sessions to share research objectives, progress, and results, and to gather community feedback.
- Prepare high-quality progress reports, briefing notes, final reports, and presentations for DEWR management, Makivvik executives, and funding agencies.
