Job Summary
Hosted at Dalhousie University, the new Centre of Excellence in Fisheries Science will enhance Canadian fisheries management through integrated research, innovation, and collaborative knowledge mobilization. The Centre will develop and deploy next‑generation assessment tools that enable decision‑making to account for the challenges facing our marine ecosystems, while building the capacity required to sustainably manage Canada’s marine resources for future generations and trains future fisheries scientists. The Research Scientist will develop stock assessment models to incorporate environmental factors and be responsive to climate‑driven changes in fish populations. They will also support fisheries science and management efforts at provincial, regional, and national levels.
