Senior Commercial Law Clerk, Underwriter

Job Summary

We are looking for an Sr Commercial Law Clerk/Underwriter to underwrite and issue commercial title insurance policies for commercial real‑estate transactions across Canada (excluding Quebec) focusing on national law‑firm clients. The role includes educating customers, providing second‑level underwriting support for transactions over $50M, and acting as the first point of contact for senior law clerks and lawyers.

Responsibilities

• Review lawyers’ title memorandums, due diligence and searches to prepare title insurance policies.
• Provide information to customers regarding coverage, underwriting guidelines, endorsements, quotes and procedures.
• Maintain a strong customer focus and build collaborative relationships with customers and internal partners.
• Support team members by sharing knowledge, providing guidance and collaborating to meet deadlines.
