Senior Engineer - Protection and Control Planning

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Protection, Control, and Telecommunications Engineering Division is responsible for engineering BC Hydro’s Protection & Control systems and Telecommunication Networks. These systems must contribute to safe and reliable operation of BC Hydro’s electric system while meeting performance requirements of system planners, regulators, customers, and other stakeholders. The division provides engineering studies, standards, specifications, design solutions, construction documentation, and engineering oversight for work performed by engineering service partners.

• Plan, evaluate, and integrate protective relaying schemes and remedial action schemes, including associated teleprotection and data communications.
