Senior Manager, Technical Accounting

Job Description

Working at BlackBerry’s headquarters in Waterloo, ON, the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting will join a team of dynamic and experienced finance professionals on the Company’s accounting team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Assistant Corporate Controller, the position will lead accounting and external reporting related projects, including researching technical accounting guidance related to revenue and complex transactions, writing accounting position memos, and benchmarking industry financial reporting practices. The role will also assist with the revenue recognition processes and fiscal period closing operations.

Specific Accountabilities

• Provide technical accounting leadership across the finance organization, advising on U.S. GAAP treatment of complex accounting matters, implementation of new accounting standards, and emerging accounting and financial reporting issues in a SaaS environment.
