Position Summary

An analysis of the social construction of deviance, social control and the use of social rules. Particular constructions of deviance to be addressed may include mental illness, juvenile delinquency, interpersonal violence and substance abuse.

Qualifications

  • Required Academic Degree: Master’s Degree
  • Required Discipline: Sociology or related discipline
  • Required Areas of Specialization: None
  • Required Professional Designation: None
  • Other: Applicants must demonstrate professional training and/or experience relevant to the substantive content of the course. University teaching experience (course directorship; tutorial leadership not considered), evidence of explicit sociological orientation.
