Underwriter

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Mortgage Originations, the Underwriter is responsible for recommending customer’s mortgage applications. Including in-depth analysis of document review and managing loan from application to completion stage.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Effective “pipeline management” to ensure documentation is received on time.
• Assess up to 4 mortgage applications per day; evaluate broker documentation and recommend or approve mortgage applications by assessing the 5 C’s of credit: credit, capacity, capital, character, and collateral within established HTB guidelines.
• Fulfill all required conditions and communicate remaining conditions with brokers within SLA.
• Provide excellent customer service, including efficient turnaround time to brokers, while building and maintaining positive working relationships.
