Water & Wastewater Facilities Operator

Under the direction of the Sewer & Water Supervisor, inspects, maintains, repairs and installs municipal water distribution, wastewater collection and storm sewer systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum post‑secondary diploma (e.g., Environmental Technician) or equivalent acceptable experience.
• Must possess and post a minimum:
  • Class I Water Treatment Certificate,
  • Class I Water Distribution Certificate,
  • Class I Wastewater Treatment Certificate
• Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership.
• Must have worked a minimum of one (1) year as a Certified Water or Wastewater Treatment Operator.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Must have sufficient clerical ability to complete necessary reports.
• Have working knowledge of Safety Regulations and Procedures.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
